The thing about true love is it is perfect. The thing about us is that we are not.
We have to grow in love.

Love is a person, and life is all about becoming like that person who is love.
Love is essence. When the exterior doesn't match what the essence is, the essence won't change but redeem the action that contradicted it.
It will get back on the right track and continue to pursue love more.
Being that we are imperfect, if we hurt the people we love, we will ultimately hurt as well.
Love is finding your joy, in the joy of another.
If you have true love for someone and want true joy for yourself, you will seek joy in the one you love that you may obtain it as well.
In our humanity, once we fail to display the actions of love, but have the affections of love, our hearts will convict us to recover what was broken, that our joy may be full.
1 Corinthian 13v7:
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
If you have true love for someone and want true joy for yourself, you will seek joy in the one you love that you may obtain it as well.
